XSET co-founder Marco Mereu, who helped found the gaming and lifestyle brand a little over two years ago with other industry veterans, has officially announced that he had left the organization back in August of this year.
XSET was founded by Mereu, alongside former FaZe Clan executive members Greg Selkoe, Wil Eddins, Clinton Sparks, and they quickly rose to prominence as one of the more visible brands within the North American market.
XSET recently announced a number of changes to their leadership structure, which saw them appoint co-owner Erin Ashley Simon as their new Chief Culture Officer (CCO) and Steve Birkhold as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), replacing Mereu.
XSET raised $15 million in funding prior to the restructuring, stating that the funds will be invested in new talent at the executive level, marketing, and their content creation department as well.
“Thank you for your support from day one and always repping the set” Mereu said in the statement. “I appreciate the support for our organization, players and teams and hope you will continue to support XSET in their future endeavours.”
