Riot Games has released the internal viewership numbers for VCT Masters Madrid and the event drew millions of viewers, far more than was originally known and shattered the record for the most-watched Valorant esports event (peak viewers), according to Esports Charts.
The event brought in 1.6 million peak viewers, not including viewers from all streaming services or countries such as China, and Riot officially announced back on May 9th that internal viewership metrics showed the event brought in 3.1 million peak concurrent viewers.
Additionally, Riot Games says that the tournament had an average of 1.1 million viewers, doubling what the VCT Masters Tokyo generated a year ago.
The event touted some of the most popular esports teams making deep runs, such as Sentinels, Gen.G Paper Rex, LOUD, and Karmine Corp.
