Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese set a WNBA record last week when she recorded her 10th straight double-double, finishing with 10 points and 16 rebounds in Chicago’s loss to the Minnesota Lynx at home.
Reese surpassed the Los Angeles Sparks’ Candace Parker’s record, which was set back in 2015.
Despite the record setting night, Reese struggled overall going 4-of-16 from the floor and 2-of-4 from the free-throw line.
“She’s gonna continue to do what she does, that’s who she is, she’s always gonna come out and play hard and confident and give you everything that she has,” Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon said of Reese (h/t ESPN). “She’s the hardest person on herself, so proud of what she’s doing and what she’ll continue to do.”
Reese extended the streak in Chicago’s win over the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night, notching 12 points and 19 rebounds to extend Reese’s WNBA record of consecutive games with a double-double to 11, only 18 games into her WNBA career.
